Perfect Presents
Baby Shower Cakes

Rebecca L. from Winter Haven, FL designed these gift package baby shower cakes! Aren't they cute??

Make a single layer 9x13 sheet cake using your favorite cake recipe.

Cut the cake into the size you wish the individual servings to be.

Coat the top and sides of each cut present lightly with buttercream icing.

Tint fondant the color you desire (or buy it pre-tinted from Wilton).

Working on one package at a time, roll the fondant 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and place on top of a piece of cake.

Using your hand or a fondant smoother smooth the fondant all around the present.

Cut the excess off the bottom with a pizza cutter or knife.

To make the bows, roll out the fondant about 1/8 inch thick and cut into 1/2 inch strips. Lay a strip across the present in each direction (forming a cross pattern) for the ribbon surrounding the present. Take another strip and place on the center top and form into a bow.

Repeat this process for each guest attending and in the color combination of your party.

Amazon has many beautiful helpers for helpers for baby shower cakes, such as pans, decorating items and books. See if they have what you need for your cake.
