More Baby Shower Food!
Baby shower food is simply your favorite food, cooked up special to please your guests.
I have never met someone who doesn't like hot scones smothered with butter and honey!! I usually use defrosted Rhodes rolls to shape and fry into scones.
And if you're making a lot of baby shower food, you'll want to keep things simple.
However, if you like doing things from scratch, here's a great recipe:
Navajo Fried Bread
(Valerie J.)
4 C. Flour
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Powdered Milk
1 1/2 C. Warm or Hot Water
1 C. Shortening or Oil for Frying
Mix dry ingredients together, then add water and mix until soft and pliable. Let stand about 30 min. to an hour, covered. Heat oil. As you shape the dough into round discs, drop them into the oil. Turn once to brown on both sides. Best when warm!
I'd recommend Amazon if you are the reading type and would like a hard copy guide about baby shower food.
Corn Bread

These guys can cook!
1 1/2 C. Cornmeal
1/2 C. Flour
4 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt

1 egg, beaten
1/2 C. Melted fat or oil
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Mix milk and egg in small bowl. Add fat. Add this mixture to dry ingredients. Stir only enough to moisten.
Fill greased baking pan (9 x 9) half full. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 9.
OR fill greased or papered muffin cups half full. Baking time will be 15-20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
