When I Think About You Babe

I wrote this baby shower verse, while I was feeling impressed with all the silly things my kids do. I love them like crazy, but sometimes wish I could just hold them again, like I could when they were tiny.

When I think about you babe.

I get a little silly inside,
like someone just took all the good things
and stuffed them inside me.
Is it your tiny toes that
curl around my fingertips?
Or your ability to take away all my troubles
with just one giggle?
Holding you reminds me
of how soft I know life can be.
Now here I am, thinking about you babe.
And right now,
there's nothing else I'd rather do.
