What Is A Baby Shower? PDF Print E-mail

Having a baby shower is having a party with a purpose: to welcome baby!

The guests have the perfect excuse to get together and the mother-to-be is presented with the necessities that little tyke could need. It's a great combination!

The welcoming party can take place any time, before or after the baby is born. Whichever time is more convenient for the mother.

For example, sometimes parents like to wait and find out the gender of their baby after it is born. In this case, it would be hard to know what color to crochet the baby gift. So, either generic gifts are given before the birth or the party is held after the new arrival.

Sometimes traveling distance between friends or relatives may require that the party is held whenever everyone can be in the same place at the same time.

In America, a traditional baby shower is hosted by a friend or family member of the mother. Gifts are given, refreshments are served, games are played, mother is pampered, etc.

All because it is so exciting to welcome a baby to the earth!

If you have any questions about what a baby shower is, don't hesitate to ask me. I'll do my best to help you.
