Baby Shower Cake Picture

This Witzy Duck baby shower cake picture might look rough around the edges to you. That's because it's my very first cake decorating experience!

I used a Wilton's "Suzy's Zoo" pan. I followed the instructions intensely since I was a first-timer.

I greased and floured the pan generously and the cake came out beautifully.

If there's one thing I learned NOT to do, it's be lazy.

Go ahead and make the buttercream icing instead of using the pre-made canisters.

The pre-made icing I used was too soft, so the cake was messy.

I borrowed a cake decorating kit from my neighbor. By all means, if you don't have cake decorating supplies, borrow them! Half of my neighborhood owns them. Unless, of course, you plan on making a lot of cakes. Then it's probably an investment worth making.

The end result? My cake was fun to make and fun to eat.
