Quilt Baby Shower Cake
It's a beautiful thing, a quilt baby shower cake, created by Diana Albers from Highland, MI. "Instructions: This is 2 9 x 13, quarter sheet cakes, one was cherry chip with nuts and the other was a marble cake iced together to add some variety. I divided the cake into equal squares to go around the edge of the cake. I used a star tip and filled each square with a different color of icing. I zig-zagged around each block to add some contrast. I added little baby items to each square. I put a stork with teddy bear in the middle and wrote welcoming the baby by name. I used a whipped buttercream to frost the cake that used meringue powder to hold up in the heat. In the end it turned out to look like a babies quilt so I was happy with it. And it tasted great too! It ended up getting a little smashed by carrying it in so I had to come up with a quick fix so I saw this extra ribbon so I made a bow and covered up the smash, it was not in the plan but all turned out good in the end." Diana's
