Vellum Baby Shower Invitations
Vellum baby shower invitations are very popular since they are so simple to make.
This cute pink invite cost approximately $.55 and took less than 10 minutes to assemble. Here are some simple instructions:
1) Using a word processor, chose your favorite font in size 14. Center the text and type your invitation.
2) Print the invitation onto a sheet of vellum (available at scrapbook stores).
3) Crop the vellum equal to a piece of colored cardstock (pastels are always a great choice).
4) Using eyelets and setting tools, place the eyelets about 2 inches apart. This will hold the vellum to the cardstock, as well as allow a place for a ribbon to be tied through them.
5) Thread ribbon through eyelets and tie into a bow.
6) The little teddy bear is a rub-on transfer, however, any baby sticker would be a great embellishment.
And it is finished! Mine is approximately 4 x 4 inches and would fit nicely in an invitation size envelope.
Making this boy vellum baby shower invitation is similar to making the girl invite.
However, 1) Instead of using pink cardstock, I chose blue, naturally.
2) I used brads to hold the vellum to the cardstock, instead of eyelets.
3) I left the paper (8 1/2 x 11) its original length. This size is perfect to send in a trade size envelope.
The great thing about these invitations is the hard work is done by your word processor. Your creative touch is all that it takes for a beautiful finish.
